The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers
The following is a possible outline for the week. Details have yet to be finalised so anything could change! We aim to be based at a Camping/Caravanning site near Canterbury but of course you can elect to go to a hotel, B&B, self-catered place etc.
Meals: we will take it in turns to shop and cook BBQ-style for evenings at the campsite and we will try to find suitable pubs for lunches on days out.
Friday: A number of us plan to travel down Friday but of course not all can do that.
Saturday: Tower tour and back at the campsite for the evening
Sunday: Local Service Ringing, visit Canterbury and tour of Canterbury cathedral at 2pm (£10 entry charge but free tour), then free evening.
Monday: While the CCCBR meeting takes place the rest can go for Quarter Peals or ring at a few towers and/or do some sightseeing? Local practice night in the evening?
Tuesday: Tower tour (Romney Marsh area?)
Wednesday: Tower tour (North East Kent?)
Thursday or Friday: Day trip to France via ferry from Dover - lunch and a shopping stop over there, bringing back the spoils for tea!
Thursday or Friday: Tower tour and perhaps a takeaway back at camp.
Reserve the dates but PLEASE let us know as soon as possible that you’re thinking of coming and we’ll add you to the mailing list. We’re going to find out the space the proposed campsite has, but bear in mind it is half term week so the pitches on it could get booked up really fast.
